Two years later, our work continues.
Our Ukrainian mothers and children still need our help - and yours.

We need more support to continue our desperately needed counseling, language training, educational support and group social programs for hundreds of Ukrainian refugee mothers and children like Nataliia, pictured here with her daughter 14 yr old daughter Polina, who has Autism.

With explosions cascading around her, on March 3rd Nataliia gathered up her then 12 yr old Polina, and her mother, and they fled to Romania, a country completely unknown to them.
Their brave story began February 26, 2022, when Nataliia was accosted on the street in her village by a group of Russian soldiers demanding directions to Kiev. It was the beginning of the end of the world as Nataliia and Polina once knew it.

Fortune smiled on Nataliia when she met Liliana, an Inocenti staff member hired to help run our refugee support programs in Bistrita. Liliana not only spoke Nataliia’s language, she also understood how to help her access the special assistance that Nataliia’s daughter Polina, so desperately needed. As Polina began attending Lacrima, a special local school and long-time partners with Inocenti, it wasn’t long before Nataliia decided she wanted to do more to help her fellow mothers and children. She began volunteering her professional counseling skills to help others adjust to their new lives after so much loss and trauma. Now Nataliia is one of our 10 paid Inocenti staff who work with hundreds of volunteers to help our Ukrainian families.
All of these staff, and our programs, are supported by your gifts to RCR-Inocenti.
We hope you’ll continue to join us as we continue our work in the coming year.
